Same as last week Lambourn took a while to get going, Luke was looking dangerous and was denied by the woodwork and a great save by the Goalkeeper before scoring a great solo goal taking on 4 players before chipping the oncoming keeper. Luke scored another before half time after Howard had hit the post . Aaron had little to do as Brad and Daniel like they have done all season stopped the opposition from creating any chances. 2 - 0 at half time.
The second half saw Lambourn going downhill and it was all one way traffic as hungerford could not cope with the great passing play. The goalkeeper slipped up from a goal kick and Declan took advantage firing the ball back in from outside the area. Ciarhan in goal made a great save from a rare Hungerford corner. Matthew Francis came on for Harley and scored two quick fire well taken goals, Lambourn poured forward and Kieran scored two more goals . Lambourn rounded off another great display with Matthew getting his hat trick to the delight of all the supporters especially his dad who celebrated it like a Premiership footballer.
8 - 0 final score. We have now scored 51 goals and conceded only 8

Home to Hungerford
Lambourn made hard work of the first 10 minutes with Hungerford looking dangerous on the break , finally Lambourn started to get their passing game going and won a string of corners. Bradley Skeats hit a fierce corner in that hit the post and from the resulting goal mouth scramble Declan Rackham volleyed home the opener. Kieran Ratcliffe was injured after a heavy tackle and was replaced by Howard Hughes.
Hungerford won a free kick and fierce shot hit the crossbar soon after though Lambourn broke away with Harley Brizell and after a strong run he hit a great shot into the corner. 2 - 0 at half time.
Lambourn started the second half strongly and Daniel Bayliss was mopping up any Hungerford breaks. Luke Plumb then scored a quick fire hat-trick with 3 well taken goals. Matthew Francis came on for Daniel at the back and Lambourn continued to pour forward but the hungerford goalkeeper made a string of saves from pretty much all the Lambourn players. Credit to Hungerford they kept battling and deserved a consolation with a well taken long range shot that Aaron saw late. With a few minutes remaining Lambourn scored again through Declan to seal another good victory. 6 - 1 full time.

Abbeymeads A at Home
This game was originally away but Abbeymeads pitch was unfit so it was switched to Lambourn. The lads struggled to get going and made hard work of the first 15 minutes with Abbeymeads going close a couple of times but some good defending by Daniel and Bradley and a couple of saves from Aaran kept them out. Lambourn started to get on top with Daniel going close and then Harley scored a the opener after a corner caused a goalmouth scramble. We continued to come forward and another scrappy goal was scored this time by Declan, Luke had a couple of good chances before half time but the first half finished 2 - 0
The weather turned at half time and the rain got heavier which made the ball like a bar of soap and stopped either side from getting there passing going. Howard came on for Luke and went into midfield and was soon in the action with a couple of strong runs down the left one resulted in the keeper making a great save to keep him out. The resulting corner saw Declan score one of the goals of the season with a superb volley that the keeper did not even see. Matthew came on for Harley and put in some strong tackles on the right and when the ball broke he hit a good shot which the keeper saved well. Luke came back on for Kieron and soon after added a fourth with a well taken goal. Bradley hit a fierce free kick which was cleared off the line and also had another long range effort pushed around the post.Abbeymeads pushed forward at the end and credit to Aaran who had been a spectator for long periods but made a great save low down to keep a clean sheet.
Final score 4 - 0, probablythe poorest overall performance of the season but we still won easily to keep the run going we have now scored 37 goals and conceded just 7.

Purton Youth A Away League Cup 2nd Round
Purton Youth A 0 - 4 Lambourn Sports
Lambourns impressive start to the season continues, unbeaten in the league and with confidence high they played Purton A from the division above them in the second round of the League Cup. Lambourn poured forward from the off and quickly raced into a 3 goal lead through a brace from Luke Plumb and a well taken goal from Kieron Ratcliffe . Aaron Smillie in goal was just a spectator as Purton only really had 2 shots on goal first half. 0 - 3 half time
The second half started like the first but with the wind behind them Purton offered more of a threat but the back pairing of Daniel Bayliss and Bradley Skeats were awesome and it was from a throughball by Skeats that he found Plumb who rounded the defender and struck home his hat trick. Declan Rackham in midfield made some great runs that the Purton defence had no answer to and with Harley Brizell whipping crosses in from the right the Purton goalmouth was leading a charmed life. The Goalkeeper in the second half made 3 great saves near the end as Purton pressed but Lambourn made sure of the win by bringing on Howard Hughes for Ratcliffe and he made some great tackles in difficult conditions.
Final Score 0 - 4 Fantastic result and the lads are growing in confidence week on week bring on whoever in the next round.

Fairford at Home
Lambourn anticipated a hard game against Fairford who were one place above us in the league but from the off the lads were on top. Some good passing early on between Harley, Decland and Kieran lead to some good chances but the goalkeeper made some good saves. Fairford threatened a couple of times but Bradley and Daniel protected Ciarhan in goal from having to make any meaningfull saves. A pass out of defence from Bradley found Kieran who passed to Luke he shot well which was defended but the ball fell to Declan who stroked it home. Howard came on for Harley and he was straight into action with a good run that was stopped just before he was about to score and the ball went out for a corner. Bradley whipped in the resulting corner and Declan headed home to make it 2- 0 at half time.
The second half was one way traffic with Luke and Kieran being denied on at least 5 occasions by the goalkeeper. Harley came on for Howard half way throught the second half and Lambourn continued to pour forward, from another corner Kieran knocked the ball to the edge of the box where Bradley smacked a fierce shot first time which whistled past the post. Towards the end of the game a momentary lack of concentration allowed Fairford to attack with 4 against 2 and they got a well taken goal back with 3 minutes left. After another couple of spurned chances from Lambourn the last minute saw Fairford press forward and in the last minute they won a corner which resulted in a goalmouth scramble that saw Bradley clear off the line before the whistle blew for a good win the only dissapointment was that it was not by a bigger margin.
Final score 2-1
Still unbeaten and back to the top of the league, we are back to the cup next week with a tough game away to Purton from Division 1 but with only Lambourn and Swindon Rangers in Div 1 now being the only unbeaten teams in all four divisions confidence is high.

Away to Cirencester
After finally finding the venue at the second attempt we were presented with a very poor surface it was also so small that it was probably Under 6 since the lads had played on such a small pitch.
From the first whistle you could tell this was always going to be an awkward game as there was no room on a compact playing area for the lads to get any sort of passing game going. The ball spent more time off of the pitch during both halves but when it did stay on Lambourn had the better chances with Bradley and Kieron going close. At the other end Aaron had little to do and even had to take power off of his kicks so that he would not clear the other goal. Half Time 0 - 0
The second half was exactly the same as the first although with the wind against Aaron could kick full power. Declan , Harley and Kieron could not get there passing game going as there was no width and Luke did not have the normal space to run into when Daniel and Brad found him with balls over the top. The second half finished without any real meaningfull attempts on goal for either side.
Full Time 0 - 0 . A game ruined by a ridiculously small pitch

Away to Stratton A League Cup Second Round
Lambourn came out of the blocks quickly and were over running Stratton in all areas, Luke Plumb was put clean through in as early as the first minute but the Stratton goalkeeper made a great save. After a period of sustained pressure Lambourn finally took a deserved lead from Kieran Ratcliffe who hit an unstoppale shot from the edge of the area. It took Stratton until 15 minutes in before mounting there first meaningfull attack but stout defending by Bradley Skeats and Daniel Bayliss kept them at bay and some good saves from Aaron Smillie who was a spectator for long periods. Another attack from Lambourn broke down and the ball fell to Keiran who shifted the ball and lobbed the keeper from well outside the area. Declan Rackham was breaking the play up in the middle of the park and some great runs from Harley Brizell continued to put the pressure on Stratton. Half time Stratton A 0 - 2 Lambourn
The second half saw Stratton come out with a bit more fight and they then started to get on top Howard Hughes came on for Kieran to try and shore up the midfield. Matthew Francis came on for Luke who had run himself into the ground up front instead of settling for 2 nil Lambourn continued to press forward for a third but on one of these attacks the ball broke and Stratton had 3 on 2 and Aaron could do nothing as the Stratton forward finsihed well. Matthew had a great chance to make it 3 late on and was then replaced by Luke who came back on and Harley made way for Howard. The referee found 9 minutes of injury time but Bradley in defence was determined no one was going to get through and then finally the whistle went for a great win against a team in the league above us.Full time Stratton A 1 - 2 Lambourn

Home to Calne
Lambourn 1 - 1 Calne
A fantastic advert for the Under 9 Div 2 league , a very fast flowing hard fought game between two very good sides who were joint top. Both teams cancelled each other out although on the balance of play Calne had the better first half even though Lambourn missed a penalty. The second half Calne took an early lead with a long range effort after this Lambourn attacked relentlessly with the Calne goalkeeper making 3 great saves and the home team hitting the post. Then finally in the last 30 seconds of the game during a goalmouth scramble the ball found it's way to Harley Brizell who did not panic and stroked it home.

Wanborough Away
Wanborough 0 - 11 Lambourn
Lambourn continued there great start to the season after a slow start on a poor pitch. It took 10 minutes for Lambourn to get into their stride but once Luke plumb opened the scoring it was all one way traffic. Luke scored 3 more in quick sucession all well taken strikers goals after great approach play by the midfield of Declan, Kieron and Howard. Bradley and Daniel never looked like letting Wanborough through which let the midfielders flood forward, Kieron was fed the ball by Declan and he finished well. Harley came on for Howard and from a Harley shot the defender deflected it into his own net, Kieron scored the best goal of the game just before half time with a great strike from the edge of the area to make it 7 -0 at half time.
Matthew came on for Luke at half time and went up front soon after the re-start he had a number of chances which the keeper saved well. Declan then scored two great solo goals with some neat finishes, Matthew then had another great chance which hit the bar then the rebound he hit against the post and it looked like he was not going to get his goal but soon after the ball found its way to Matthew who finished well. Aaron who had been a spectator for most of the game made a couple of good stops towards the end before Harley rounded off a great team display with number 11.
Top of the league with a goal difference of +20 after 3 games we just need to build on this great start.

Shaw at Home
Lambourn 7 - 2 Shaw
Lambourns impressive start to the season continued with an emphatic win against a dangerous Shaw side. The opening five minutes were very even with Shaw putting us under pressure but some great defending by Daniel Bayliss and captain for the day Howard Hughes kept them at bay. Lambourn started to grow in confidence and a through ball to Luke Plumb saw him finish well, from that point on it was all one way for the rest of the first half. Declan Rackham workingly tirelessly in centre midfield got a deserved solo goal and soon after a corner from Declan was flicked on by Bradley Skeats and Kieran Ratcliffe made sure with a back heel on the line. Another corner shortly after from Bradley was cleared to the edge of the area where Howard Hughes hit an unstoppable shot in off the crossbar. Just before half time Aaron Smillie in goal who had little to do picked the ball up and launched a massive kick which bounced once outside the Shaw area and then went up and over the goalkeeper for an unbelivelable goal. Half time 5 - 0
Ciaran Quick came into goal for second half and soon busy as Shaw started the better side finally Shaw made the breakthough with a well taken goal from outside of the area. Lambourn were stunned back into action and started to pass the ball well again and after a period of domination Luke Plumb got his second goal. Matthew Francis came on for Daniel and went into midfield with Bradley dropping back into defence and soon after Luke was replaced by Kacey Lane the changes seemed to effect the flow of Lambourns passing and for a 10 minute period Shaw were on top which resulted in them scoring another well finished long range effort. The last five minutes saw Lambourn on top again and good work from Bradley found Matthew who passed to Declan to finsh for his second goal from the edge of the area.
A great effort from the whole team who all did their jobs well sees Lambourn top of the league with a game in hand and a goal difference of +9 after 2 games WELL DONE

Friendly Against Radley Youth
Game 1 - Lambourn 2 - 2 Radley(Luke Plumb 2)
The game started well and with some great passing from both sides who were very evenly matched. Daniel and Bradley at the back were having to do more and more defending as the half went on but with the midfield of Declan , Harley and Kieran battling for every ball Lambourn started to come into the game more and Luke had his first chance at goal. Radley made the break through before half time Ciaran in goal was unlucky not to stop the effort but it sneaked in. The second half started with Howard on for Declan and Lambourn soon equalised through Luke, Radley then had a period of pressure which led to a second goal. Matthew came on for Harley in midfield with Bradley and Kieran and some good passing between those two and Luke sent him free and cooly slotted home the equaliser . Kacey came on for Bradley and there were further chances for both sides but the entertaining game ended all square.
Game 2 - Lambourn 3 - 2 Radley(Declan Rackham 2, Luke Plumb )
Another entertaining game saw Lambourn go behind from a corner with a bullet header the team kept going well and equalised through Declan. The second half again saw Lambourn fall behind and were lucky not to fall further behind but a couple of good saves from Ciaran kept Radley out. Luke scored another poachers goal to equalise and Lambourn were finishing the stronger side , another period of pressure saw Lambourn finally take the lead through Declan with almost the final kick of the game.

Friendly versus Ardington
Lambourn 2 - 3 Ardington
Ardington started the brighter of the 2 sides and were quickly 1 up, as the first half went on Lambourn grew in confidence and started to pass the ball around better. After some good work in the midfield by Declan Rackham the ball broke to Bradley Skeats who took the last defender on a side footed past the goalkeeper. Just before half time Ardington got a corner and somehow the ball found the back of the net from the corner kick.
Second half started brightly for Lambourn with Howard Hughes and Matthew Francis defending stoutly, Declan was working tirelessly in midfield with help from Harley Brizell and Lee Blundell. A good passage of passing between Bradley and Declan set Declan free and he cooly fired home. Aaron Smillie made some good saves as Ardington pressed but an interception from a throw out lead to a third goal for Ardington with only a minute to go.
